Our Story…

Goran

Having studied Criminology at the Police Academy, Goran was first introduced to yoga through martial arts, particularly karate and judo. His training in these disciplines gave him a strong belief in how regular practice can transform both the body and mind.

Before undertaking his own teacher training, Goran attended a variety of workshops and seminars with teachers including Sri Dharma Mittra, Andrei Ram, Twee Merrigan, Patrick Beach, Stewart Gilchrist and Nicole Carling, gradually developing his own understanding and approach to yoga.

Goran began his professional yoga career at Yogahub, where he completed his 200-hour teacher training under the guidance of his long-term teachers Sylvia Ferguson and Brian Malone.

He has since taught with Flowstate at a number of events, including Wellness Week at Capital Dock, Flowfest at Atelier Maser and summer rooftop classes at The Marker Hotel.

Continuing to develop his knowledge and practice is important to Goran. He has completed a further 100 hours of advanced teacher training with Michael James Wong of Krama Yoga, as well as 15 hours with Jim Harrington focusing on Yoga for Sports Training. He has also attended workshops with Hiro Landazuri.

Goran’s practice is rooted in classical Hatha yoga, with a focus on alignment, longer holds, and gradually building strength and flexibility.

He also draws from the different styles he has practised over the years, including Dharma Yoga, Ashtanga, Yin and Jivamukti. His classes offer variations for different levels, making them accessible to complete beginners while still offering plenty for more experienced practitioners.
